Missions

Published by Aimee under Missions

Victory World Missions is fully committed to the Great Commission. We understand that when Jesus spoke this that it was not an after thought, but it was His final thought.

Our thrust is with a three pronged approach. In traveling to over 50 nations, our President, Dr. Robert W. Carman along with his wife Ginger, have seen this approach work time and time again. Our hearts are not to simply say we are doing something overseas but to influence culture. So, with this understanding, we are committed to the following.

First, to train the national pastor, the pastor holds the key to a culture. It is not our intent to send people to those nations, but to find those that are in those nations that have been there for a long time with a proven track record, and come along side to help train their pastors and church leaders. Second, to help build Bible schools, from good Bible schools we know that countless churches can and will be established in the nations. So with this understanding, Victory World Missions is either involved in physically building the schools or we come in throughout the year to help train the students. We bring pastors from our Network, provide training material, and as relationships are developed in these countries we have and will send building teams and financially support the schools as the resources are provided.

The third area is building churches; nothing speaks louder to a village than a permanent church building. It tells the community that Christianity is here to stay. We go about this many ways. We challenge people in our churches to sponsor a church; we call it a “Living Memorial”. Building a church in honor of a loved one is a wonderful way to show that there is a living record of that person. We encourage them to provide a plaque to be placed in the church so all will know who it was built for.

Victory World Missions also facilitates many other areas of world missions such as literature distribution, sending church teams on short term trips, digging water wells and providing medical help whenever we can.

Ephesus – Part 2

We walked through the remains of Ephesus and viewed the great theater where the people of this city gathered for two hours shouting; “Great is Diana of Ephesus” Acts 19:34.  I can only imagine what it was like to see Paul being stopped as he tried to confront them.

As we looked at Celsus library, walked its marble roads, looked at Hercules gate, saw the Nike, the goddess of victory, gazed at the fountain of Pollio, saw the only pillar left that was the temple of Artemis or the temple of Diana one of the ancient seven wonders of the world.

We were griped by the total immorality of this city and began to ask how Christianity grew.  There were no physical church buildings, no senior pastors.  Paul spent two years training leaders as the church existed in homes, fields and under trees.  The impact was so great that it affected the economy of this city and shook all of Asia Minor, or modern day Turkey.

How did this happen?  Several things come to mind.  First, Paul trained and discipled leaders.  Second, the church was relational; they spent time with each other.  Third, the message was simple but transforming!  And last, the Gospel was preached not with mans wisdom!  Remember that Ephesus was filled with mans wisdom, the gospel was the power of God!

It’s the same today!  Follow that pattern and the church will rise again!

God bless,

Rob & Ginger

Missionaries

Published by Aimee under Missionaries

Victory World Missions supports a variety of overseas ministries, some on a monthly financial basis, and others through our services that we provide. Below is a list of those ministries. As our resource base grows our ability to support more will continue.

Dr. Graham and Irene Baker currently live in Sydney, Australia. The Bakers are veteran missionaries that spent 32 years of their life in the nation of Papua New Guinea. This nation was considered the last Stone Age nation on earth. There they established Gospel Lighthouse Church and Bible School that through the years transformed the nation, where today over 70% of Parliament is saved and filled with the Holy Spirit.
Dr. Graham and Irene established 600 churches and sent 1,000 pastors into the field. Dr. Baker is the current Vice President of Australia Four Square Church and Pastor of New Horizons Church. They travel extensively throughout Asia and the South Pacific.

Pastor Kario Veneo who is the Senior Pastor of Gospel Lighthouse church in Madang, Papua New Guinea. Pastor Kario oversees hundreds of pastors throughout the nation.

Vanuatu is an island nation in the South Pacific, east of Australia. Victory World Missions is helping to build the first full Gospel Bible School in that country, located on the island of Tanna. Pastor Luke Franklin, who is a spiritual son to Dr. and Mrs. Carman, went there in the year 2000 to be a missionary. Since his arrival he has established over 25 churches and influenced the President and Prime Minister of the nation.

Pastor Roberto Gliget Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pastor of La Casa De La Bendicion. Pastor Roberto has 30 churches under his care. God has raised him up as one of the strongest pastors in Argentina.

Rod and Ellie Hein from Zimbabwe, Africa, is a husband and wife team that has touched the nation of Mozambique. They have faced enemy bullets, land mines, mig bombers, hippo herds and cobras. They have seen human suffering beyond description in one of the world’s poorest countries. They have literally helped move a nation baptized in blood to the signing of the peace accord in Rome in 1972 and helped end the 16 year war.
Rod and Ellie are the founders of Afrika Wa Yesu Bible School in Inhamiga, Mozambique.

Jerry and Jana Lackey founders of Love Botswana Ministries. Jerry and Jana are located in Maun, Botswana, their ministry comprises many facets. They have 30 acres of prime property; they house the finest Christian school in the nation, a Bible school, medical mobile units, a church, and have brought AIDS awareness to the nation. They are also involved in church planting, national pastors conferences and have worked with Teen Mania, hosting hundreds of teenagers yearly.

Dave and Jan Brunk founders of Christ for the Nation, Belarus, in the city of Minsk. They built the finest recording studio in the former Soviet Union. They have gone to the Russian speaking churches world wide and have done more to influence Russian gospel music than any other ministry. The humanitarian portion of their ministry in less that one year sent out 27 containers worth more than 3.5 million and distributed to more than 529 organizations, hospitals, orphanages, etc. Over 2,699 individuals have passed through their distribution center, the first of its kind in Belarus.

They are currently working towards opening the first Christian University in the whole former USSR! They are negotiating with the number one state university in Belarus to offer a joint educational program.

Building Churches

Published by Aimee under Building Churches

One of the key components to do an effective work overseas is to invest time, resources and money into building churches. Some of the nations we will be working in are Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Mozambique, Botswana, Argentina and India. There are many ways we can accomplish this. We can build a church in most of these nations for about $4,000 and generally in about one week. We have found it very rewarding to build a church as a “Living Memorial” to a loved one that has gone on to heaven. This can be done when a church sends a building team who after the church is built, can dedicate the church in the name of that loved one. The family provides a plaque that can be placed in the church as a “Living Memorial” to honor God and the family that built it. Global Network does the coordination of the event. We only do it in the areas that we have strong relationships in.
